She was born of Czechoslovakian, German, and French Canadian descent the daughter of absentee father/actor Jon Voight. She was taking acting classes in her early teen years, but at 14 she dropped out to pursue her dream job as a funeral director. She was a bit of an outsider as a not-so-affluent youth surrounded by wealthy peers.

After a couple years her funeral director dream fell through and she began a career in professional modeling. She got a few roles in music videos and eventually started earning roles as an actress in several films, doing one after the other until she shot into the global limelight as a superstar actress and the frequent subject of tabloid magazines, particularly after "stealing" Brad Pitt away from Jennifer Aniston.

She seems to be aging decently, but her fuller, more cherub-like looks were much better than her more boney looks in recent years. It's been said that she has been a frequent heroin user, but it seems she may have replaced that alleged addiction with lots and lots of adopted kids from the far reaches of the globe.
